Optical Filters: Bandpass Filters, IR Cut Off Filters, Dual Bandpass Filters, and Custom Filters.
Optical filters are glass windows that transmit or block certain wavelengths. Optical filters are made with absorptive glass or reflective thin film interference coatings, or a combination of both coatings and glass material.
Optical filters are used in most cameras around the world as image sensors are sensitive in the near infrared. These are also use in industrial machine vision to increase the contrast of certain colors, making it easier to identify, characterize, and classify specific objects. Or, in robotics navigation systems to enable certain projected light sources to be more easily observed at long distance.
Find an M12 Lens / S-Mount Lens
M12 Lenses are miniature lenses for embedded cameras, computer vision, and human viewing camera applications.
We offer many types of M12 lenses including fisheye, wide-angle, no-distortion, and telephoto types. Many are ingress protected.
We have >200 production-ready lenses with accurate specifications, downloadable .STP files, and same-day global sample shipping.
Our low F#, low distortion, and/or ingress protected lenses are ideal for automotive, mobile robotics, and aerial robotics.
Our miniature fisheye, telephoto, and IR Corrected lenses are suitable for doorbell cameras and active IR illuminated scenes.
Our lenses are available with multiple F# and customizations allow you to quickly optimize any camera design.
Our camera lens optical filters that we can customize any of our M12 lenses with are:
Types of Optical Filters
- Bandpass filters pass light in specified wavelength range(s) and block other wavelengths.
- Edge filters play a role in wavelength-dependent reflection and transmission, fitting into the broader category of interference-based filters.
- Longpass filters pass light above a cut-on wavelength and block light below this cut-on wavelength.
- Shortpass filters pass light below a cut off wavelength and blokc light above this cut-off wavelength.
- Notch filters: Block specific wavelengths and pass others. These are similar to bandpass filters, but can have multiple blocked wavelength ranges.
