The Commonlands M12 focus lock ring is a precision-machined AL6061 anodized aluminum nut for any standard M12x0.5 lens barrel. You set focus, thread the ring down, and tighten it against the lens holder so the lens does not rotate during vibration, shipping, or field deployment.

This ring usually works better than a set screw. A set screw pushes on one point and can deform threads over time, especially on aluminum-barreled lenses. The lock ring loads the barrel evenly, so focus stays put without chewing up the threads.

Black anodized AL6061 aluminum gives you corrosion resistance and a matte finish that will not kick stray reflections back into the optical path. The part only weighs a few grams, so it adds almost no load to the assembly.

The ring is compatible with all Commonlands M12 lenses and any M12x0.5 threaded S-mount lens. It also works with our CLA017, CLA018, CLA019, and CLA022 lens holders. If you still need to pick a lens, calculate your field of view.
