Frequently asked questions
What sensors work with the CIL034 no-distortion M12 lens?
The CIL034 covers sensors from 1/2.5 inch to 1/1.8 inch depending on the aperture variant. The F/2.3 version resolves 5MP at 2.4μm pixel pitch, the F/2.7 version handles 8-10MP at 1.85μm, and the F/4.2 version covers 6MP at 2.2μm. Its 8.0mm image circle gives common formats some margin.
How much distortion does the CIL034 have?
The CIL034 uses +34% F-θ pincushion distortion, which works out to about 0.07% TV distortion in the usable image area. That keeps straight lines straight enough to avoid software correction in many inspection systems.
What is the difference between the CIL034 M12A and M12B variants?
The M12A version has IP67+ sealing with a 17mm diameter cap for outdoor or washdown use. The M12B version is unsealed and uses a smaller 14mm cap for tighter mechanical envelopes.
Which aperture variant of the CIL034 should I choose?
Pick F/2.3 when you need maximum light on 5MP sensors. Pick F/2.7 when you need a middle ground for 8-10MP small-pixel sensors. Pick F/4.2 when you want more depth of field on 6MP sensors. Check depth of field at depth of field calculator
Is the CIL034 compatible with FLIR and Basler cameras?
Yes, the CIL034 is mechanically compatible with FLIR Blackfly S board-level cameras and Basler Dart S-mount cameras using standard M12x0.5 threading. It also fits Allied Vision Alvium, iDS uEye, and The Imaging Source M12 boards.
Does the CIL034 ship same day from the US?
Yes, in-stock CIL034 variants ship same day from San Diego for orders before 12 PM PST. Every lens is 100% MTF tested before shipping.
