8mm C-Mount lens for up to 1.1" sensors such as IMX304 and IMX253

The CIL508 is an 8mm C-mount lens that covers 1.1" sensors at up to 12MP with 3.45μm pixel pitch. It pairs well with sensors like the Sony IMX253 and IMX304. The iris adjusts from F/2.4 to F/16, and stopping down to F/3.2 opens compatibility with sensors above 12MP. This is the lens you use when a 1.1" camera needs very wide coverage without dropping to M12 optics.

The CIL508 gives you 96° across the 17.6mm image circle. Distortion measures -5% from rectilinear at minimum object distance, which is the expected tradeoff for this much width on a large sensor. That level works for large-area inspection and approximate measurement, but precision metrology should use a longer focal length. You can check field coverage at field of view calculator

The lens uses an all-glass construction and weighs 235g. That mass comes from the larger glass required to cover 1.1" format at 8mm, not from unnecessary housing bulk. The front takes M58x0.75 filters. Focus starts at 80mm, which is close enough for PCB and product inspection on conveyors and bench stations. The optical design is not compatible with C-to-CS mount adapters, so the lens must mount directly to a C-mount camera.

The standard C-mount thread fits cameras from FLIR, Basler, Lucid Vision, Allied Vision, and similar industrial vendors. If you need a narrower field on the same sensor format, you should move to the CIL512 at 12mm or the CIL514 at 25mm.
