An IR Cut-Off filter is frequently used to re-balance a CMOS sensor's color sensitivity. These sensors have large sensitivity in the near infrared range which, if left, un-corrected will lead to oversaturation/overexposure of the red pixels during day-time conditions. Our economical IR Cut Off Filters are intended for use with imaging optics, however, you can use them for other applications as deemed necessary.
