IMX327 sensor specifications and
compatible M12 lenses & C-mount lenses
IMX327 is a Sony 1/2.8-inch rolling-shutter CMOS image sensor in the STARVIS family, made for low-light and NIR imaging. It runs 1920x1080 (2.1 MP) at 60 fps over MIPI CSI-2 or LVDS, with 2.9 um pixels on a 6.39 mm diagonal. Commonlands matches M12 Lenses to its image circle and supplies the calculated horizontal, vertical, and diagonal field of view.

Compatible Commonlands lenses for the IMX327. Field of View calculated with Distortion.
Each field of view below is calculated for the IMX327 active area (5.57 × 3.13 mm) using our MCP server and Field of view calculator. The rectilinear formula FoV = 2 × arctan(dimension ÷ (2 × focal length)) is incorrect for many lenses as it doesn't include distortion. Coverage shows whether the lens image circle covers the 6.39 mm sensor diagonal. Fisheye and f-theta lenses do not follow the rectilinear formula, so their entries link to the product page for the mapped field of view.
Engineering picks for the IMX327
- Best ~30° HFoV: Telephoto 10.4mm M12 Lens (CIL104) (10.4 mm, f/3.8). Why: the closest covering option to 30° horizontal, chosen for tight inspection framing and long read ranges. Field of view on the IMX327: 30° H × 19° V (35° diagonal); image circle covers the full sensor; verified 2026-07-02.
- Best ~60° HFoV: Wide-Angle 5.5mm M12 Lens (CIL355) (5.5 mm, f/1.8). Why: the closest covering option to 60° horizontal, chosen for general-purpose machine-vision framing. Field of view on the IMX327: 61° H × 37° V (73° diagonal); image circle covers the full sensor; verified 2026-07-02.
- Best ~120° HFoV: Low Distortion 1.8mm M12 Lens (CIL018) (1.8 mm, f/2.8). Why: the closest covering option to 120° horizontal, chosen for wide navigation and room-scale coverage. Field of view on the IMX327: 119° H × 90° V (128° diagonal); image circle covers the full sensor; verified 2026-07-02.
- Lowest distortion: Low Distortion 4.4mm M12 Lens (CIL043) (4.4 mm, f/3.2). Why: measured -0.5% TV distortion, the flattest image among covering lenses. Field of view on the IMX327: 65° H × 43° V (74° diagonal); image circle covers the full sensor; verified 2026-07-02.
- Best low light: 8mm C-Mount Lens (CIL521) (8 mm, f/1.5). Why: the fastest covering aperture (f/1.5), which collects the most light per pixel. Field of view on the IMX327: 38° H × 25° V (45° diagonal); image circle covers the full sensor; verified 2026-07-02.
Commonlands offers 65 lens options for the IMX327: M12 Lenses and C-Mount Lenses from 0.8 mm to 100 mm focal length, spanning 3° to 195° horizontal field of view on the IMX327 active area.
Coverage key: covers = lens image circle ≥ sensor diagonal; crops = image circle smaller than the diagonal (expect vignetting at the corners); verify = image circle not published for this lens — ask our engineers to confirm coverage.
How to choose a lens for the IMX327
Start from the field of view your application needs, then read across to the focal length that produces it on the IMX327. Confirm the lens image circle covers the 6.39 mm diagonal so the corners are not cropped, and check the lens resolution is rated for 2.1 MP or higher so it resolves the 2.9 µm pixels. For exact working-distance and object-size numbers, run the figures through the Commonlands field of view calculator.
